in

The road that seems to be cursed is the Phoinikon Street in Peristeri, as yet another accident occurred here, fortunately without fatalities. The traffic accident happened at the intersection of Phoinikon and Vasilikon streets in Peristeri around 22:30 on Sunday night (April 27, 2025), when an urban bus collided side-on with a car. As a result of the collision, three people were injured, including a 17-year-old minor. Moreover, due to the severity of the impact between the vehicles, the involved car hit parked cars, causing damage to them. ‘We heard a loud noise and came out onto our balconies. This isn’t the first time; we frequently experience such incidents. On Phoinikon Street, cars are parked on both sides, creating visibility issues. Everyone races down this road, both buses and cars,’ said a local resident to ERT’s camera. According to the same source, one of the victims suffered memory loss due to the impact. ‘One of the girls who got injured lost her memory from the crash. The bus threw them to the other side of the intersection, causing a pile-up,’ he explained specifically. Based on residents’ complaints, this particular intersection in Peristeri is considered very dangerous. Many drivers speed, and the parked cars that obstruct visibility create the ‘perfect’ conditions for accidents. Naturally, panic ensued at the scene. Ambulances from EKAB took the injured away, and the Traffic Police documented the incident. The cause of the traffic accident remains unclear so far.
