Pella: 65-Year-Old Woman Falls Victim to ‘Accountant’ Phone Scam

A 65-year-old woman from Giannitsa, Pella, fell victim to a telephone scam using the ‘accountant’ method, losing jewelry and valuables worth €25,000. An unknown caller posed as an accountant and claimed he needed to record her home jewelry inventory. Convinced, the woman later admitted a young man into her home, handing over five gold sovereigns, jewelry, and watches. Police identified the 19-year-old collector and filed charges against him; the caller’s identity remains unknown. Investigations continue.
