Peggy Tricali: The Painful Breakup and Autoimmune Condition That Made Motherhood Difficult

Peggy Tricali revealed the difficulties she faced on her journey to becoming a mother, speaking with her colleague Elisavet Moutafi in the show ‘Mama-des’ aired on ERT1 last Sunday (23.03.2025). Peggy disclosed that she always knew she wanted to have a child. However, two major relationships did not align with her wishes—one partner already had a child and didn’t want more, while the other didn’t desire fatherhood at all. The second breakup was particularly painful, causing an autoimmune condition that doctors said might prevent her from becoming a mother. Despite these challenges, Peggy persevered and eventually welcomed her daughter, Francesca. ‘I gave birth to Francesca at 40 years old. I always said I wanted a child, but it wasn’t until my 30s that this desire surfaced,’ she shared. She also spoke about her strict stance regarding her teenage daughter’s use of makeup and mobile phones, emphasizing her reluctance to allow social media apps like TikTok.
