Paulos Polakis Blasts Karanika Over Support for Culture Minister Mendoni

in

A new dispute has erupted between Paulos Polakis and Nikos Karanika, this time over the support shown by the former advisor to Alexis Tsipras for Culture Minister Lina Mendoni regarding the incident with the archaeologist in Argos. Polakis attacked Karanika via social media, calling his statements about Lina Mendoni ‘incomprehensible nonsense.’ Nikos Karanika had posted that Lina Mendoni was justified in criticizing the staff of the Ministry of Culture for the state of the archaeological site in Argos despite receiving funds for its upkeep. In response, Polakis admitted that the minister could have maintained her composure but strongly disagreed with Karanika’s stance. He pointed out that the funds mentioned by Mendoni come either from ESF or the Recovery Fund, while the specific building could only be financed through national resources. Polakis questioned why Karanika felt the need to defend Mendoni, referencing past conflicts, and concluded by stating he no longer wishes to read Karanika’s posts after this.
