In response to the controversy surrounding his recent visit to Mani where he was addressed as ‘prince,’ Paul de Gregos spoke out. During the visit, Petros Andreakos, Mayor of Eastern Mani, greeted him by saying: ‘Believing that we are all Greeks here, each of us has the right to believe what we want. However, personally, I believe titles do not die. Titles follow a person throughout their life. So, I welcome Prince Paul.’ De Gregos shared with ANT1 that he enjoyed his time in Mani and praised the hospitality. Regarding the controversy, he stated: ‘My name is Paul de Gregos, and you should get used to the new name. All these issues will pass. We don’t want to offend anyone or create problems. We are in a new phase… I hope no issues arise, and we can continue our lives normally. It’s not easy when you know something will become a topic, but how someone chooses to address me is their business. My name is clear, and I am a simple citizen.’
