Patras: Tomorrow the torch relay of Volunteer blood Donors

14 torch relay of Volunteer blood Donors of Greece.
The ceremony will be in the church of St. Andrew and the flame will be lit from the holy candle, and then handed over to the first torchbearer by his Eminence Metropolitan bishop of Patras mr. Chrysostomos. From there the flame will be transferred from the λαμπαδηδρόμους in George square, where at 8 in the evening, there will be a central event with speeches, a concert and dance.
The torch relay organised by the Panhellenic Federation of Voluntary blood Donors (ΠΟΣΕΑ), while this year’s co-organizer is the Region of Western Greece, which is leading the way nationwide in actions and initiatives to promote the universal concept of voluntary blood donation.
The message is that “the voluntary blood donation saves lives”, and especially now in the summer that the deficiencies in blood is a lot of, it is essential to all of us participating in the effort.
The institution was started 14 years ago and every summer, the second half of August, hundreds of volunteers λαμπαδηδρόμοι, crossing the whole country, carrying the flame of love and spreading the message of non-remunerated voluntary blood donation and the άδολης offer to the unknown suffering fellow beings.
In the relay involved each time, the Local Government, institutions of Health, Education, the Church, Sport and the Αιμοδοτικού Movement, while dozens of events surround the welcoming ceremonies in every city and town, linking the donation with the local communities.
