Patras: New Testimony About Marks on the Back of a 10-Year-Old Child – ‘We Saw Them Completely by Accident, Asked for a Doctor’s Note’

New testimonies are shedding light on the case of a 10-year-old child with disabilities from Patras and the mysterious marks found on his back. Authorities have collected statements from the boy’s parents, staff at the Creative Employment Center (KΔΑΠ) who first noticed the marks, the doctor who examined him at Karamanadjeio Hospital, and the child’s pediatrician. The family insists that these marks are evidence of abuse. The boy’s father claims that just days before the incident, his son did not have these injuries. Communication was established between the physical therapist and the doctor who treated the child and alerted the police. The boy was taken to Karamanadjeio Hospital last Friday morning to have some stitches removed, and doctors informed his father that he needed to stay for further observation. Following an investigation initiated by the public prosecutor, more details are now emerging, painting a troubling picture of the child’s condition and raising serious concerns about his well-being over an unspecified period of time. A staff member at KΔΑP told Live News, ‘We saw it and immediately informed the doctor — that’s all we did. We saw the marks completely by accident when we were changing his diaper.’ ‘I don’t know how long the marks had been there,’ the employee added. ‘He came in three times a week. When we saw them, we called his father to ask what they were. We asked for a doctor’s note explaining the marks and also informed the physician. We try to help him walk a little, as much as he can — he has serious mobility issues, so he can’t do many things, as you can imagine.’ ‘When you see something like this, the right thing is to report it,’ the staff member continued. ‘The parents told us what you’re suggesting — maybe it was from his seat, or from the physiotherapy sessions. But I’ve given all the videos to the police, and I’ve never seen anything that would suggest abuse.’ ‘All children, especially those with mobility issues, may sometimes have bruises — this isn’t the first time nor will it be the last,’ the employee concluded.
