Patisia Fire Under Control: Strong Firefighting Forces Remain On-Site

The situation has improved following the fire that broke out on Tuesday evening (April 1, 2025) in an abandoned workshop located at Agiou Antoniou Street in Upper Patisia, within a residential area. Firefighters remain on-site addressing minor flare-ups. The fire was extensive and required immediate response. Strong firefighting forces arrived promptly in Patisia with 12 vehicles, including a specialized articulated vehicle, while water supply trucks from the municipality were also deployed to assist in extinguishing the blaze. The fire was contained within the building, and according to the latest updates from the Fire Brigade, the roof of the structure has collapsed. Currently, 25 firefighters with 10 vehicles remain stationed at the site, and nearby apartment buildings have been evacuated as a precaution. Due to the fire, Trochaea closed the following roads: Dimitrakopoulou Street, at the height of Agias Lauras Street; Agiou Antoniou Street, at the height of Herakleion Avenue; and Tralleon Street, at the height of Herakleion Avenue, towards the cemetery. Residents report this is the third incident in 15 days involving this location, which lies at the heart of the urban grid.
