PASOK: The conflict with the government over the heavy nurses and the two amendments it brings to Parliament

The confrontation between the government and the as Nikos Androulakis has intensified the presing towards both the accuracy and the work. The strategy followed by the main opposition party was shown yesterday as the PASOK parliamentary group tabled an amendment calling for inclusion in the heavy and unhealthy of the nurses and workers of the EKAB . Harilaou Trikoupis officials are even talking about a first victory as Adonis Georgiades appeared yesterday from the House’s step to admit that the government must legislate on the submission of nurses to the heavyweights. The President of PASOK defended the amendment and even asked the government to accept it as a sign of consensus, while criticising the Minister of Health, who said he attempted to slander PASOK. “We are currently tabling the amendment to join the heavy and unhealthy of the nurses of the NSO and the crews of the ECAB. We call on the government – and the Minister himself personally – to support it. He was the one who has repeatedly committed himself to a positive suggestion on this issue and talks about a fair request, which he repeated very recently in his interviews,” said PASOK – Change Movement president. He added that according to a recent OECD report, our country is in the last position in proportion of nurses , with only 4 per 1,000 inhabitants , compared to an average ratio of 8 per 1,000 , by submitting the relevant data in the minutes. “This is how the bilingualism and populist approach of the health minister emerged which, following the collective rejection of PASOK’s first amendment on health care, was publicly committed to curing injustice for nurses,” noted prominent Harilau Trikoupi officials. In the next few days PASOK is reportedly to have two more amendments. One will concern the freezing of golden visa in municipalities where there is a rapid increase in rents and the second will have to do with overtaxing overprofits of banks. Partners of Nikos Androulakis even stressed that “the government shows its anguish in front of the documented PASOK opposition. On the one hand this was illustrated by the double presence of Georgiadis, Voridis in the government headquarters to respond to Nikos Androulakis and also the reaction of the Minister of Labour, N. Kerameos, at the meeting of PASOK president with the social partners, where the high representation and content of the debate showed that PASOK will continue with movements of high and substantial symbolism for society.”
