A new unprecedented controversy erupted recently in the artistic community, with Paschalis Tsarouchas and Petros Philippidis as the main protagonists. During his trial at the Court of Appeals on Wednesday, March 23, 2025, where he is accused of two attempted rapes, Philippidis made claims involving other members of the Greek Actors’ Guild (SEH). Subsequently, Paschalis Tsarouchas clarified matters, stating that “a clear sky fears no lightning.” On Monday, March 31, during an appearance on the show ‘Buogiorno,’ the star of the series ‘The Land of Olive’ denied any complaints against him and emphasized that the Disciplinary Council of SEH, which he chaired when three women accused Philippidis of rape and attempted rape, could provide clarifications to relevant judicial authorities if necessary.
Tsarouchas reiterated that there has been no complaint filed against him and explained that the Disciplinary Council of the Union of Greek Actors is a formal body. He added that it cannot engage with individuals expressing opinions or television shows but stands ready to assist the court if required. Furthermore, Tsarouchas commented on the #MeToo movement, noting improvements in people’s behavior over the past years. The dialogue between Philippidis and Spiros Bimbilas during the trial also implicated Tsarouchas, leading to further clarification from the actor through a Facebook post emphasizing the council’s role as a legal entity subject only to judicial authority.
