Great plans seem to have been trying to combat the climate crisis and turn its capital into an oasis of green. As Bloomberg reports, Paris wants to remove 60,000 parking spaces and instead plant trees. Mayor Ann Idalgo has been trying in every way to reduce Paris coal emissions in recent years, putting her own pithar in the fight against the climate crisis. In this context the climate plan was released in the capital of France for the period 2024 to 2030, which is expected to be voted soon by the Paris Council. The plan promises to provide citizens with a greener city, more resistant to extreme weather conditions, more pedestrian friendly – and as free as possible from cars. Thus, the Municipality of Paris by 2030 will create green spaces on 3,000 acres, while 10% of them will be created over the next 2 years. The goal is parking spaces, such as those located next to the streets, as along the sidewalks can easily be planted a number of trees. At the same time, there is a plan for “square oasiss” (large squares) in each of the 20 apartments of Paris with kiosks, trees, flowers and benches that will limit extreme heat, which is noted in recent years almost every summer. It is noted that the municipal authority promises to create in the center of each apartment a space without cars and with intense pedestrian walking, creating large squares that will refer to the squares of Paris during the 20th century, which had become centres of cultural and political fermentation.
