Papapetrou for Panathinaikos – Monaco: “All teams with changing coach have extra motivation”

He spoke about his encounter with Monaco and stood on the return of Dimitris Giannakopoulos to the stadium. Panathinaikos’ Greek forward still commented on the arrival of Vassilis Spanoulis on the bench of Monaco and stressed what the Greek coach will bring to Monegasmos. In detail his statements : For Monaco : “They are a team very talented, they have very aggressive talent and very dangerous guard, that is where their game begins. Apparently, by changing the coach, all teams have an extra motive. Coach Spanoulis, I think he’s excellent for this job, because he’s shown very good signs, he’s probably got a few things to put on. He is not there long to pass his philosophy, but they will certainly try to play better with the advent of the new coach. We must be ready to set our rules because we play on our pitch.” About what Spanoulis thinks he will be able to put on the team: “It’s a very full roster, I’m not worried about anything. We look all their opponents in the eye, especially when we play on our field, we want to beat them all. Obviously I think Spanoulis will start their game, give a better defensive direction. We must focus on our own game and play the basketball we know, in front of our world.” On whether they miss the presence of Dimitris Giannakopoulos from the stadium : “We obviously miss him. We are all happy to be here with us and I hope in all the games, well having things. We should all go to the end like we did last year.” For that in every second period in the last games he was always back with double digits differences: “To tell you the truth I did not know this statistic. We’re starting quite a game kind of slow and sluggish. Obviously we have no room for doing this with any team in the Euroleague. We must be more focused, we must not relax and be ready from the first second regardless of the opponent. I think we work well, we improve day by day and we will show a very good face tomorrow”
