Panayiotis Gionis responded to the complaints of Foreign Stathis: The three lies he told – The goal of personality degradation

The champion’s reaction to the ping pong, Panayiotis Gionis, to complaints from the federation’s member of command, Foreign Stathis, in yesterday’s interview (24.11.2024). The leading representative of Greek table tennis and a member of the athletes on the board of directors of E.F. O. Ep.A., Panayiotis Gionis, sent to the Federation Press Office for publication the following written statement in response to complaints from the member of the Board of Directors of E.F. O. E.A. Foreign Stations. “Last night’s interview aimed at distorting events and deconstructing personalities” says the Greek ping pong champion, with a presence in six Olympic Games. The placement of Panayiotis Gionis “On the occasion of yesterday’s interview with Mrs. Stathis on the GRE78.tv channel on youtube, I feel the need to place myself in public. What was said not only affects me as an athlete, but also as a human being. As a model for young athletes, I consider it my duty to restore the truth, quoting evidence for every point. 1st Lie: Election to the Board Mrs. Stathis reported that I was placed in the Board. That’s untrue. I had the unanimous support of all members of the board, including herself, for the position of representative athletes, on the basis of a proposal from the president. Then I was “the perfect choice” for her too. Proof: Photograph of minutes of the meeting. 2nd Lie: Participation in the European Pre-Olympic Tournament 2021 It was argued that I asked to fight alone so that my attention would not be distracted. The truth is, I voted for all of us to participate as a team. I had requested the presence of a physiotherapist due to a serious Achilles injury to help all athletes, not just me. Proof: Photo of practice. 3rd Lie: Vote in impeachment Mrs. Stathis presented me as a supporter of sexist attacks. That’s completely false. I have clearly condemned all forms of sexism and bullying. I voted for impeachment because Mrs Stathis’ complaints were published on a well-known website without first being discussed in the board and, among other things, contained inaccuracies for the federal coach. Proof: Photo of practice. Other Categories Mrs. Stathis’s reports on “advanced treatment” are misplaced and untrue. Both me and my family have sacrificed a lot for the sport. Also, the effort to compare with other athletes regarding my participation in social actions is unfounded, as I always respond to invitations to promote the sport, unless I have competitive obligations. Conclusion Yesterday’s interview aimed at distorting events and dismantling personalities. I trust the world’s crisis of table tennis to assess both the content of the interview and the time point to which it was given. If Mrs. Stathis’s words about me are false, what can be true of the rest? The conclusions are yours. P.S. The blurred points in the photographs concern positions of the remaining members of the board, which for obvious reasons are not allowed to mention Panayiotis Gionis Table Tennis Champion Member of the national teams for 34 years with great international distinctions and six participations in Olympic Games Member of athletes on the board of the E.F.
