It seems that Willian Arão will not continue his career at Panathinaikos. At least, this is what the Brazilian sources suggest, stating that the player is set to sign a contract with Santos this summer. Specifically, the website br.bolavip reports that Santos has agreed terms with the 32-year-old defensive midfielder from Panathinaikos, whose contract with the Greek club expires this summer. This season, Arão has participated in 36 matches with Panathinaikos. Since joining the club in 2023 from Fenerbahçe for €2.5 million, he has played a total of 84 matches. According to the Brazilian publication, Arão is expected to wrap up his stint in Greece this summer and move to Santos, where he will wear the team’s jersey under coach Penetro Caixinha. The official announcement of the deal is anticipated after the current season concludes, following the completion of negotiations between Santos, Arão, and Panathinaikos. With an illustrious career featuring clubs like Flamengo and Corinthians, Arão brings significant experience and quality to Santos’ midfield.
