The Panathinaikos faced AEK at OAKA for the second competitive match of the Super League playoffs and took an early lead thanks to a goal by Nemanja Maximovitsch. Just in the 17th minute, after already having a disallowed goal due to offside, Panathinaikos managed to open the score against AEK with Maximovitsch being in the right place at the right time. Following a cross from Vangjelidi on the right, Sphinterski headed it towards goal, Brinioli deflected it, but Maximovitsch was there to capitalize and score effectively into an empty net, giving his team the lead at 1-0. Panathinaikos even went to the locker rooms for halftime with the advantage of 1-0.
