Panayiotis Karaiskos spoke on the show “Buongiorno” and referred to the outfit he had at an early age and the way he managed to get out and finish 2nd in the Athens Authentic Marathon. Panayiotis Karaiskos is one of the best Greek long-distance runners, however his life was not always easy, as for many years the athlete of Hercules was facing drug addiction. However, with the help of his family and with a steel will, he managed to get out of this dark world and now number several distinctions. For his adventure with the fit, but also the support he had from his family he spoke to himself on the show “Bungiorno” with his words moving. Karaiskos’ words “I am satisfied with the result of the Marathon. At 15.5 at a difficult time of my age without realizing it I tried drugs and from an athlete I became a user. It’s been six years before I made the decision to say I have a problem and I have to go another way. ‘I have been trapped, especially in recent years, when you are in this world you cannot control it. You have an illusion that you have no issue, you’re not dependent. All this was defense. When I was a kid, I used to do the champ thing too many years. I realized I was depressed because some things I did without understanding. I got away from people because I did something bad, that I was controlling. I had a large court at an early age, I saw people go to prison and leave the life I was associating with. So I said I’m either gonna cut it off or go to jail and die. My family was always there for me, they never left me. Not when I was on the verge of going to jail, not when I got to a bad O.D. spot. I always had their love. I said why I’m making these people sad. It is never too late for anything, we should never give up and I should never underestimate anything. I was mocking the run, but when I tried it and saw it on me and what benefits it gives me, I said never to do it again in my life.” In this year’s 41st Athens marathon Panayiotis Karaiskos finished in 2nd place with a time of 2:19. 50 in an excellent race.
