Pakistan: Three Children and Two Women Among 11 Killed in Drone Strikes on Taliban

At least 11 people, including two women and three children, were killed early Saturday (29.03.2025) in western Pakistan during military drone strikes targeting militants responsible for the deaths of seven soldiers on Friday. ‘Three drone attacks were carried out against the Taliban’ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, near the Afghan border, where violence has escalated over recent months, according to a senior police official who wished to remain anonymous. Reports indicate that residents placed victims’ bodies on the road as a form of protest, claiming they were innocent civilians. Another police source confirmed ongoing investigations to verify if Taliban members were present at the time of the attack. The Pakistani Taliban movement (TTP), which shares ideology with the group currently ruling Afghanistan, announced its ‘annual spring campaign for 2025’ earlier this month, threatening military forces with ambushes, targeted attacks, suicide bombings, and assaults on their positions.
