Outrage Over Pet Groomer’s Abuse Videos in Volos, Greece

In recent hours, a series of videos from Volos, Greece, have sparked outrage on social media. The videos show a pet groomer mistreating animals while grooming them. The groomer, who had posted the videos on her personal account, later removed them after receiving numerous negative comments accusing her of animal abuse. In one video shared by Mega, the woman is seen pulling a small dog by its tail, making it stand on one leg, and saying, “We do acrobatics. I’ll shave you because you’re dirty.” Another clip shows her spitting at a small dog and calling it names. A third video reveals a cat that appears to have been sedated. According to the Association of Professional Dog Groomers, represented by Lina Kostaki, these actions clearly violate professional ethics and good animal care practices. While complaints have been filed, she noted that the grooming profession is not yet officially recognized, stating, “There is a professional framework, but currently, no license is required to be a groomer.” Meanwhile, the veterinary clinic associated with the groomer issued a statement denying any knowledge of the incident and cutting ties with the groomer due to the backlash they faced.
