January 2026 marked a historic high for Greece’s out-of-court debt restructuring mechanism, with €773 million in debts restructured via the platform—surpassing the previous record set in June 2025 by €113 million. A total of 2,554 restructuring agreements were finalized that month. Since its launch, 53,307 agreements have been completed, covering €16.53 billion in original debt—reinforcing public trust in the process. Of these, 68.6% involve self-employed individuals. Notably, 274 agreements in January targeted economically vulnerable households—including 37 for persons with disabilities (PwD). Additionally, 440 debtors have secured suspension of enforcement measures, protecting their assets and primary residences. Bilateral loan restructurings with the four largest servicers (Intrum, Cepal, DoValue, Qquant) also gained momentum: December 2025 saw €442 million restructured across 5,522 debtors—up from €412 million year-on-year.
