OTOE Proceeds with Legal Claims for Salary Losses of Bank Employees

The Hellenic Bank Employees’ Federation (OTOE) has announced its intention to proceed with judicial claims aimed at recovering salary losses incurred by bank employees over the past decade. According to a statement released after yesterday’s Executive Committee meeting, attended by representatives of primary union members, a unanimous decision was made to initiate legal action. The goal is to fully restore frozen salary scales and seniority bonuses (1.85% per year), as well as other wage losses suffered by employees due to the non-recognition of their work between 2012 and 2023, as clearly outlined in sectoral collective labor agreements.

OTOE emphasized that it is taking on a responsible and determined role in coordinating this crucial sectoral effort, aiming to achieve a significant victory not only for the banking labor movement but also for workers’ rights more broadly. Alongside the legal process, OTOE plans to mobilize political and union support to strengthen the initiative.

The federation reiterated its commitment to moving forward with a clear strategy, thorough documentation, and unwavering belief in the justice of the employees’ cause.
