The Hellenic Federation of Bank Employees’ Associations (OTOE) has announced the initiation of legal action aimed at recovering lost wages accumulated over a 12-year period. According to an official statement, during yesterday’s Executive Committee meeting—attended by leadership representatives from primary union members—a unanimous decision was made to pursue legal remedies. The objective is to fully restore frozen salary scales and seniority bonuses (1.85% per year), as well as compensate for wage losses suffered by all bank employees due to the non-recognition of their work between 2012 and 2023, as clearly stipulated in the provisions of Sectoral Collective Labor Agreements.

OTOE emphasized its responsible and determined role in coordinating this crucial sectoral effort, aiming to achieve a major victory not only for the banking union movement but also for labor rights more broadly. At the same time, necessary political and union mobilization will be developed to support this initiative.

OTOE stressed that it is moving forward with a clear plan, thorough documentation, and unwavering belief in the justice of the workers’ cause.
