The future of Orbelin Pineda in AEK Athens was made crystal clear during an interview with ‘TV Azteca’. The Mexican midfielder emphasized his respect for the contract he signed with the Greek club. When questioned about transfer scenarios that emerged in January involving interest from Chivas and others, Pineda reiterated his commitment to AEK. He stated, “It was difficult, but I’m grateful for the opportunities provided by Mexican leagues. However, everything is decided by the Greek team because I have a contract to honor. The responsibility lies with them (AEK) to decide whether I stay or go; my role is on the field.” Additionally, Pineda acknowledged the recurring interest from Mexican clubs every six months, noting it as a testament to the work he does daily. It’s worth mentioning that apart from Chivas and Tigres UANL, several other clubs have shown interest in the player whose contract with AEK runs until 2027.
