Payments for the increased child allowance, guaranteed minimum income, and housing benefit are expected by the end of July, according to statements made today (June 3, 2025) by the Minister for Social Cohesion and Family, Domna Michailidou. According to her, necessary clarifications regarding changes in OPKE benefits from the government’s side are still pending, after which their implementation will be mapped out. It is reminded that based on a recent government bill, the second and third income scale of the child allowance have been unified into one, increasing the child allowance of the third income scale from €28 per child to €45 per child and €90 for the third child and subsequent ones. The Guaranteed Minimum Income further increases by 16%, from €216 and €54 to €250 and €75 per child, with corresponding income limits but targeted criteria for real estate, movable property, and deposits. The housing benefit increases from €70 to €125 and €75, depending on the income scale, now including a 30% increase per child, but with targeted criteria for real estate and deposits, while introducing a criterion for movable property.
