The debate over PASOK’s political direction—and especially what constitutes a ‘governing prospect’ against Kyriakos Mitsotakis—is back in focus. A new Opinion Poll survey for Dnews reveals a party base increasingly favoring cooperation and demanding a firmer stance toward New Democracy. Seven in ten PASOK voters support collaboration with a left-of-center party, while 62% believe ‘a single party cannot defeat Mitsotakis.’ Moreover, 60.3% back a congress resolution explicitly ruling out post-election PASOK–ND cooperation—a proposal by Haris Doukas not endorsed by party leadership. Despite 68.5% saying they are ‘very’ or ‘fairly’ likely to vote PASOK, 29.6% say it’s ‘slightly’ or ‘not at all’ likely—highlighting internal fluidity. Meanwhile, 60.6% see the upcoming congress as a fresh start for stronger presence and higher vote shares. On post-election strategy, though leadership publicly rejects ND cooperation, 29.6% believe such an alliance could happen if ND falls short of a majority—while 66.7% reject it outright. A clear majority (63.9%) backs open primaries for candidate selection to boost participation. Broadly, 68.9% view dialogue among center-left forces positively, seeing it as key to becoming a credible alternative to ND and Mitsotakis. The poll also captures early interest in emerging initiatives: 10.2% find Maria Karystianou’s potential new party ‘very’ or ‘fairly’ likely to attract their vote—though 80.5% rule it out. Similarly, 8.9% consider Alexis Tsipras’s prospective party viable, while 82.5% firmly reject it.
