According to a recent study presented on March 5, 2025, by Dimitris Mauros, Managing Consultant at MRB Hellas, one in three Greek businesses has adopted Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies. The research conducted for CPA Kudos revealed that 32.5% of surveyed companies implement ESG policies, while 24.3% plan to do so in the near future. Conversely, 38.4% neither apply nor intend to adopt these measures, primarily due to cost concerns. SMEs face challenges compared to larger enterprises, with only 10% fully integrating sustainability into their operations. Key findings highlight a lack of awareness about ESG among SMEs but show positive attitudes towards related legislation. Programs focusing on human resource development, circular economy investments, and green product innovation are most prevalent. Barriers include insufficient information and high costs, suggesting the need for government support.
