Once again, Olympiakos stood by its fans and the people of Piraeus, distributing 2,500 meals for Clean Monday along with red-and-white kites. As part of the celebration, the club actively participated in the traditional kite-flying event organized by the Municipality of Piraeus. Every year, Olympiakos maintains a strong presence in Piraeus during Clean Monday celebrations. This year was no exception, as President Vangelis Marinakis reinforced the club’s social commitment at a related event hosted by the Municipality of Piraeus. The club offered over 2,500 meals featuring traditional Lenten dishes and red-and-white kites celebrating the 100th anniversary of the club. From early morning on Clean Monday, Olympiakos representatives were present at Frearitida Beach, where the Municipality of Piraeus had planned the festivities. Thousands of residents enjoyed the meals provided, while the club distributed kites to both young and old fans adorned with the club’s emblem. The sky above Piraeus filled with red-and-white kites as people celebrated under the sounds of traditional songs accompanied by the Municipal Wind Orchestra of Piraeus. Mayor of Piraeus and Vice President of Olympiakos, Giannis Moralis, expressed his gratitude: “Happy Clean Monday to everyone here in Frearitida, traditionally celebrated every year. We have beautiful weather, great music from renowned singer Giannis Kapsalis, and support from Olympiakos, which has once again contributed significantly to our event by offering over 2,500 traditional meals. There are kites celebrating the club’s 100 years, dancing, kite flying, and everything that makes a wonderful Clean Monday.” Leonidas Papavasiliakos, Director of Commercial Department and Corporate Communications, added: “We are here today, as we are every year, in an excellent celebration organized by the Municipality of Piraeus, with the help and timeless support of Olympiakos and President Vangelis Marinakis. Wishing all Piraeus residents a happy Clean Monday and many more years of celebration.”
