Olympiacos: The initiative of Vangelis Marinakis for the TV contracts of the “little ones”, as requested by the Piraeus team by Stefan Lanois

O was one of the teams that met with Stefan Lanois and the members of the CED, at the meeting held on Tuesday morning (21/01/25) with the “reds” asking the teams to be able to listen to the VAR dialogues, while for his part the league president took initiative to secure a three-year television contract in 9 out of 14 teams. Several things were discussed in the meeting, as well as the representatives of the Super League teams, with Olympiacos and the Piraeus people, ahead of Vangelis Marinakis making proposals to improve the league. ADVERSE Specifically, Piraeus asked that the teams be allowed to listen to the VAR dialogues, which everyone agreed with, in a pioneering move. The club was also pointed out that there is a certain pattern in referee definitions, as pheres that have negative results for Olympiacos again “whistle” games of the team, while those in positive results are not defined again. The ‘reds’ have been asked to have punishments for referees with poor performance and have clarified that they do not consider the definition of a referee as a fourth ‘punishment’. Finally, they requested guarantees that the VAR Center will be ready to manage the new technology of the semi-automatic offside. Along with the initiative of Vangelis Marinakis there will be a move to enable the nine teams from the 14 teams (except Olympiacos, PAOK, Mars, AEK and Panathinaikos) to find the same three-year television contract in front of them, with which they will be able to secure quite significant financial support. CORVERSE The Super League president’s proposal was accepted and there was an agreement of the clubs, following developments in the central sponsorship expected to bring a revenue record.
