Olympiacos Secures Direct Qualification for Next Season’s Champions League Group Stage

Despite a 2-1 victory over Bodø/Glimt in the return leg of the ‘Round of 16’, Olympiacos was eliminated from this year’s Champions League. However, they have secured direct qualification for next season’s Champions League group stage. The 3-0 loss in the first match had initially relegated them to the Europa League. Nevertheless, their win in the second leg was enough to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League group phase. This is because Olympiacos surpassed Dinamo Zagreb in UEFA rankings and ensured that Bodø/Glimt (with 10,000 fewer points) does not surpass them. Additionally, if Dortmund or Aston Villa do not win this year’s Champions League, Olympiacos will claim a spot in the group stage by maintaining their Super League title.
