Major projects and priorities of the Region of Western Greece were on the agenda of the meeting of the regional Governor Apostolos Κατσιφάρα with the…Secretary-General Infrastructure George Dede, Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks in Athens, greece.
First, as pointed out by mr. Κατσιφάρας, remain for the West to Greece major roads, the Olympia and the Ionian Route, which are projects of a development character for the area. For these it was agreed to have regular communication concerning their implementation and the adherence to the time schedule.
However, the big loose end that was at the heart of the debate was the section of the Tower – Good Water, for which the Governor is claiming a plan of interventions as soon as possible.
“We need to restore an injustice, we claim that the integration of the natural and technical object of the Olympia Odos. We do not take a step back from this claim and will continue to fight until we succeed,” said the Apostle Κατσιφάρας, adding that “demand resources that will remove disparities and will contribute to the development of the Ilia, so of our Region. Road safety in Western Greece is a strategic priority for us”.
For this issue it was agreed to be re-meeting in the coming September.
The focus of the meeting was the Amvrakia Street and the completion, with the Secretary-General to assure the Alderman for the positive intentions of the Ministry as to the actions that have already been done in order to unblock the project.
In particular, as noted by mr. Dedes, the Ministry has submitted supplementary contracts for control to the relevant control mechanisms, and expected the answers about at the beginning of October. Immediately after, as was emphasised at the meeting there will be an official update for the answers of the control mechanisms, as well as for the progress of the project.
An also important problem of the erosion of the coast of the Corinthian gulf and the Rio begins to consider most seriously. At the beginning of August it is expected the notice from the Ministry to study the issue, budget 4.900.000 euro.
The Governor expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the matter and requested the Secretary-General to be informed on the subject adding that “this is a claim years, entering into orbit implementation”.
Finally, the From. Κατσιφάρας claim resources for the Patras – Tripoli (111), indicating that it has already filed a request, which contains a full shot, while he pointed out the major security problems that have a particular road network.
In addition, the meeting raised other issues, such as the work of Pin – Παραπείρου, but also the interventions and the flood, and in the three Regional Units of Achaia, Etoloakarnania and Ilia.
In closing the meeting, it was agreed by both sides to have regular contact, about once a month, for the monitoring of the programme and the agreed.
