Novartis Case: Touloupaki and Djouras File Complaint Against Froutsos

in

In response to the allegations made yesterday by Konstantinos Froutsos, the former powerful figure in Hellas, regarding pressures to name political figures, former anti-corruption prosecutor Eleni Touloupaki and former assistant anti-corruption prosecutor Christos Djouras have filed a complaint. The two prosecutors submitted a notice against Konstantinos Froutsos for false testimony, malicious defamation, and false accusation. They are demanding immediate legal action concerning his statements in the deposition at the Single-Member Court of Athens during the trial of the two former protected witnesses in the Novartis case. According to available information, the prosecutors referenced decision 25/2022 of the judicial council of the Areios Pagos court regarding the Novartis case, stating that their meeting with Froutsos was initiated by him. During this meeting, Froutsos reportedly claimed he was wrongly implicated in the Novartis case, that the criminal prosecution against him was unjust, and that he had done nothing illegal. Both lawyers present confirmed no pressure was exerted by the prosecutors to name political figures. Furthermore, Touloupaki did not mention specific names or exhibit coercive behavior. The unanimous and unaltered verdict declared both prosecutors innocent, as the accusations against them were deemed false.
