North and South Cretan Sea

The desks of the Elementary and high School, learn from books….
and maps of our school , that the sea south of the island of Crete, is called the Libyan sea , and the sea north of the island of Crete called the Cretan sea.
There are reports that the Libyan and the Cretan sea from ancient times. We’re talking about hundreds of years ago…
The name now , and in these two sea areas , has changed, and the sea area south of the island of Crete, now called , and the maritime area to the north of the island of Crete is now called < Northern Cretan Sea >.
Can on maps and in textbooks to be listed even today the old names, but this is a matter of time to make the necessary corrections.
The reflexes of the State is not fast. There is ongoing correspondence with positive messages.
And is anyone wondering ανασκαλεύοντας in his mind the names of the Greek Seas , Myrtoo, the Aegean, the Icarian, Carpathian ! Names Ελληνικότατα!!!!
Today in the year 2016, and after lessons that we have experienced as a country, paying for expensive issues such as the Macedonian, maybe it’s time for the State intervene to make the required corrections to the maps that circulate, and the necessary corrections to the textbooks.
We are going through difficult times , our country is many times in the eye of the cyclone.
At the same time we should not forget the EEZ and Hydrocarbons in the South of Crete, in the Southern Cretan Sea.
All of the above have to do with the discovery of oil and hydrocarbons. Deposits seem to exist, and the area south of Crete. The prospects seem to be excellent and the optimism excessive. It is likely that in a few years, Greece is a formidable player at the table of oil producing countries and an important energy partner. And I wish…
But it would be unfair and unreasonable for any non-Greek who does not know history and geography, see or hear on the news that Greece draws oil from the Libyan Sea. That is, from the sea of Libya, like to draw the thieves, from foreign fields! And we all know that in these cases it is easy for evil-minded to create theme, on the basis of a geographical term. The story has to teach.
Conclusion :
The maritime area situated to the south of the island of Crete, is now called < South Cretan Sea>, and the maritime area situated to the north of the island of Crete, now called < Northern Cretan Sea>.
The Hydrographic Service of the Greek Navy says that this rename of the sea areas around the island of Crete , valid for over 12 years.
I pass on the document and the map of the Hydrographic services, showing all of the above.
Due to the seriousness of the matter , I entreat those who deal with the printing of maps the use of geographical terms in any form, such as consult the Hydrographic Service of the Hellenic Navy, if you don’t accept the above.
