Nobel Prize in Physics: Professors John Hopefield and Jeffrey Hinton

Professors John Hopefield and Jeffrey Hinton were awarded in 2024 as announced at noon on Tuesday (8.10. 24) the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for their work on artificial neural networks. John Hopefield who is a professor at Princeton University and Jeffrey Hinton from the University of Toronto were awarded for fundamental discoveries and inventions that allow mechanical learning with artificial neural networks”. The award is accompanied by a prize money of 11 million Swedish kronor (US$1.1 million), which is shared among the winners.
