Nikos Pourtsanidis: Never a Comparison Between Me and Dimitris Alexandris

In his latest interview with Breakfast@Star and journalist Sophia Rauptopoulou on Friday morning (21.02.2025), Nikos Pourtsanidis opened up about his television debut with ‘Crimes’ and his relationship with his brother, Dimitris Alexandris. ‘At first, all of this in ‘Crimes’ seemed like a game to me. I didn’t even know if I would become an actor. There was never any comparison between my brother and me. We have a significant age gap, and I don’t think anyone ever tried to compare us. We never auditioned for the same roles,’ Pourtsanidis confessed initially. ‘We were compared more with my other brother, Elias, when I played football, rather than with Dimitris. Both of us really want to act together, and I believe it will happen through one of my series.’ Pourtsanidis also highlighted the timeless appeal of certain series like ‘Crimes’ due to their exceptional scripts, comparing them to old Greek cinema classics. However, he emphasized the importance of giving space to new talents with fresh perspectives—not just in comedy but in television overall. ‘I don’t know if ‘Crimes’ would pass as easily today. Those who fear this political correctness, which exists, I think they are wrong,’ he added.
