In a post, Nikos Plakias requested the cancellation of an event regarding the Tempi train disaster due to the participation of former SYRIZA Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis. The event was scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, at the Kifisia town hall, titled ‘Crime of the Tempi, truths and conclusions: Why are we not all the same?’ Plakias, who lost his twin daughters in the train accident, expressed his anger towards Spirtzis’s involvement. Alongside Spirtzis, lawyers Lucas Apostolides and Theodoros Mandas were also set to speak. Plakias wrote that Spirtzis is considered one of those responsible for the deaths of 57 innocent lives by the families affected. He emphasized that any discussion with Spirtzis about the Tempi tragedy would be seen as a grave insult. Lawyer Lucas Apostolides responded, stating he would not participate if Spirtzis was involved. Theodoros Mandas later echoed this sentiment, affirming their solidarity with the victims’ families in their pursuit of justice.
