The leader of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, took a step forward during Thursday’s parliamentary debate (07.03.2025) on the motion of no confidence and called for an appeal to the conscience. Until yesterday, members of the Charilaou Trikoupis group avoided combining the motion of no confidence with early elections in their rhetoric. Additionally, the head of the official opposition requested that the controversial email from Christos Triantopoulos regarding the train disaster at Tempi be presented to Parliament. Androulakis emphasized that they initiated the motion of no confidence to hold elections as soon as possible. He criticized the government’s tactics, referring to leaked emails suggesting Triantopoulos participated in undisclosed meetings about the disaster response. Addressing Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ accusations of forming unholy alliances, Androulakis highlighted past resignations caused by scandals exposed in Parliament. He also criticized Justice Minister Giorgos Floridis, who defected from PASOK, labeling him a “janissary” serving those who once called him a traitor during Greece’s financial crisis. Androulakis vowed to continue focusing on issues affecting citizens daily, including the Tempi tragedy.
