Nikos Androulakis Blames Mitsotakis for OPEKEPE Scandal – Three Questions to the Prime Minister

in

The leader of PASOK has fully blamed Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the OPEKEPE scandal. During a meeting of the PASOK-KINAL Political Center on Charilaou Trikoupi Street, Nikos Androulakis raised three critical questions regarding the issue. He asked: ‘Since when has he been aware of the scandal? Why did he not prevent it, leading to a massive fine? And why did he provide political cover for the ND party network involved in misappropriating European funds?’ Androulakis emphasized that Mitsotakis cannot claim to have been surprised by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office indictment, as PASOK had warned him as early as 2020 through parliamentary questions and personal statements made in 2023, 2024, and even through an urgent question in Parliament. He stressed that the Prime Minister is fully responsible for this new major scandal affecting Greece. Additionally, Androulakis noted ongoing unfounded statements from ND officials and leaks from Maximos Mansion aimed at downplaying the issue. He concluded that this is a serious scandal involving the ND-led government, one that damages Greece across Europe and will cost Greek citizens nearly one billion euros.
