Nigeria: Abductors release 28 students – 81 remain in captivity

The attack on Bethel Baptist High School in Kantuna State is the 10th mass deportation of students from a school in northwestern Nigeria since December by Islamist militants and most recently criminal gangs.

A first group of 28 children was released two days after the raid. “Twenty-eight students were released this morning,” Reverend Joseph Hayabb told Reuters by telephone. “A number of students managed to escape; but 81 remain prisoners.”
