Former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people from prison following two powerful earthquakes—measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale—that struck the country on the evening of Wednesday, 24 June 2026.

‘Maximum Unity, Maximum Solidarity, Maximum Action’

In a message posted on Telegram on behalf of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores de Maduro, he stated: “Today, there is only one message: maximum unity, maximum solidarity, and maximum action.”

The post echoed an earlier tweet from Maduro’s official X (formerly Twitter) account dated 25 June 2026, which read: “In the face of the powerful earthquake that has struck our homeland, we offer our prayers for all affected Venezuelan families. In this difficult hour, the call is for national unity, calm, and love. Our hearts are with all of Venezuela!”

A Call to Collective Response

Addressing the Venezuelan people directly, Maduro and Flores wrote: “Dear people of Venezuela: Faced with the powerful earthquake that struck our homeland, Cilia and I pray for every family, for the injured, for those suffering, and for our entire nation.

Today, the message is singular: Unity, solidarity, and action. Let no one be left alone. Every community must care for its children, elderly, and sick. Let us support rescue efforts. Let us help rebuild the country. Venezuela has faced many challenges—and we will emerge victorious from this trial too, with faith, dedication, and solidarity. May God bless and protect Venezuela.”
