An extraordinary incident occurred in New York on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), when two Delta Airlines aircraft collided on the taxiway at LaGuardia Airport. The accident happened at 9:56 p.m. local time, involving two planes carrying a total of 93 passengers and crew. Flight 5155 operated by Endeavor Air was preparing for takeoff when its wing struck the fuselage of another Endeavor-operated flight, 5047, which was taxiing to its gate after landing. Video footage shared on social media shows significant damage, including a partially torn-off wing and a cracked cockpit windshield. According to air traffic control audio, one pilot reported damage to their windshield and onboard systems. Both planes were moving at low speed during the incident, so no passengers sustained injuries. However, Delta confirmed that one flight attendant suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution. The Port Authority stated there was no impact on airport operations. Delta emphasized that safety is its top priority and pledged full cooperation with authorities investigating the incident. ‘We apologize to our customers for this experience,’ the airline said.
