diplomats declared “undesirables” (persona non grata) as identified by the Washington agents of Russian services intelligence, will leave the United States of America to Russia on the 1st of January, reported the press office of the Russian embassy in Washington to the Russian news agency Sputnik.
“You will depart with a charter flight within 72 hours (of receipt of the notification),” said the press office.
On Thursday night president Barack Obama announced the deportation of 35 Russian diplomats, the closure of two Russian diplomatic missions and the imposition of new sanctions against six individuals and five entities. These measures were taken as retaliation for Russia’s involvement in the american presidential elections and the cyber attacks against american agencies and institutions of the Democratic Party.
The Kremlin flatly denies the charges, Washington.
The press office of the Russian embassy in Washington said that the sanctions relating to members of the Russian diplomatic mission in Washington and San Francisco.
According to a statement from the Kremlin earlier today, Russian president Vladimir Putin said that Russia will not expel anyone as a response to the american sanctions against Moscow.
