Increases ranging from 13% to 20% in the monthly salaries of personnel in the Army, Navy, and Air Force are set to take effect as announced today by Defense Minister Nikos Dendias. The new pay scale and rank structure for the Armed Forces will come into force from April 1st to October 1st, 2025. According to the new regulations, a lieutenant immediately after graduating from the Military Academy of Evzones will receive mixed annual earnings of €3,540. Additionally, a navy captain with 18 years of service will earn up to €5,532 annually. A sergeant who has just graduated from the Military Academy will have an annual income of €2,760, while an EPPOD dean with three years of service will receive €2,233 annually. As highlighted by Nikos Dendias, the cost of these raises totals €268 million. Funding comes from a combination of budget restructuring and increased compensation for all enlisted personnel. Monthly allowances at educational institutions have quadrupled, student stipends have doubled, and special bonuses amounting to €24 million for crew members and €16 million for specialized missions have been allocated.
