Significant renewal is underway in the Greek government with the entry of many new faces, reflecting a shift in philosophy aimed at enhancing efficiency and speed in governance. Kyriakos Mitsotakis has restructured the new government, assigning a broader coordinating role to Kostis Hatzipolakis, overseeing economic and production ministries. Alongside him, the new powerful pole is the 42-year-old Finance Minister, Kyriakos Pierakakis, tasked with connecting economic policy and fiscal successes with citizens’ daily lives without compromising fiscal discipline. Akis Skertsos will oversee social and institutional ministries while maintaining general coordination. The redesign emphasizes empowering younger generations, including figures like 37-year-old Pavlos Marinakis, who remains as Deputy to the Prime Minister and Government Spokesperson. Other key appointments include Christos Dimas for Infrastructure and Transport, Domna Michailidou for Family Affairs, and Yiannis Kefalogiannis for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection. Technocrats such as Nikos Tsafos for Energy and Aristos Doxiadis for Research and Innovation have also been appointed to crucial roles. The swearing-in ceremony for the new members will take place tomorrow at 11:00 at the Presidential Palace in the presence of President Konstantinos Tasoulas, followed by a cabinet meeting at Maximos Mansion.
