Netanyahu’s Son Attacks Macron Over France’s Recognition of Palestinian State

Yair Netanyahu, the 33-year-old son of the Israeli Prime Minister, launched an attack on French President Emmanuel Macron following his statement that Paris could recognize a Palestinian state within months. Yair took to X (formerly Twitter) to mock the idea by humorously suggesting independence for various French territories and regions, even mistakenly mentioning French Guinea instead of French Guiana. He used strong language, tweeting: ‘Screw you! Yes to independence of New Caledonia! Yes to independence to French Polynesia! Yes to independence of Corsica! Yes to independence of the Basque Country!’ This was in response to Macron’s interview on ‘France 5,’ aired on April 9, where he expressed hope to lead toward mutual recognition of both Israel and Palestine. Macron stated, ‘We must move forward with recognition, and we will do it in the coming months,’ adding that this initiative aims to encourage those supporting Palestine to also recognize Israel.
