In central Israel, areas that suffered devastating missile attacks launched by Iran early Sunday morning (June 15, 2025), were visited by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Iran fired a total of 80 ballistic missiles against Israel in retaliation for Saturday evening’s (June 14, 2025) Israeli airstrikes on Tehran. The city of Bat Yam in central Israel sustained horrific damage, as shown in drone footage. Netanyahu visited Bat Yam to assess the Iranian missile attack firsthand and meet with military and political officials. Speaking angrily, he stated that Israel faces an existential threat and vowed to stop Iran’s aggression. “Imagine if Iran had a nuclear weapon to drop on Israeli cities or 20,000 such missiles,” Netanyahu remarked while pointing to the ruins of a building hit by an Iranian ballistic missile. He emphasized, “This is an existential threat to Israel.” Expressing condolences for the lives lost, Netanyahu added, “Iran will pay a very high price for the deliberate murder of civilians, women, and children.” According to Israel’s Health Ministry, 12 people have died from the recent Iranian attacks, bringing the total casualties since hostilities began on Friday (June 13, 2025) to 15.
