In a statement today (June 22, 2025), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel is nearing its objectives in the conflict against Iran, crediting U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb key Iranian nuclear facilities. “We will not extend our actions beyond what is necessary to achieve our goals but will also not rush to conclude,” Netanyahu stated to reporters. He emphasized that the regime in Iran poses an existential threat and that the operation aims to neutralize both the nuclear and ballistic missile threats. The Israeli Defense Forces announced nighttime strikes on military infrastructure in Tehran and western Iran, targeting dozens of sites including a long-range missile command center. Meanwhile, President Trump defended the attacks, criticizing Republican Congressman Thomas Massie for labeling the strikes as unconstitutional. Trump praised the successful mission, stating, “We took the bomb out of Iran’s hands.”
