The legendary announced that he would not appear at the festival this year, expressing his conviction that the BBC’s participation in the famous festival means that this is “now under corporate control” rather than as he remembered in the past. The Canadian musician, through a statement shared at Neil Young Archives’s site (Neil Young Archive), explained in detail why he and his band, Chrome Hearts, decided to leave the famous Glastonbury festival, which is organized every year at Somerset’s Worthy Farm. CORVERSE “Chrome Hearts and I were looking forward to playing at Glastonbury, one of my favorite outdoor concerts. We were told that the BBC is now a partner of Glastonbury and wanted to do a lot of things in a way that we were not interested in. Apparently, Glastonbury is now under corporate control and it’s not as I remember it. Thank you for coming to see us last time!” wrote the great musician. “We will not play at Glastonbury on this tour, as it diverges ‘companyly’ and it is not for me as I am used to it. I hope to see you at another tour station,” he filled in. CORVERSE Young had not officially been announced as an artist in this year’s Glastonbury, although an appearance with the Chrome Hearts was rumored, according to the Guardian. Other names likely to appear at the festival 2025, are Rihanna, Olivia Rodrigo, Eminem, and Ed Sheeran. UK’s largest music festival, returns on June 25 with legendary Rod Stewart being the only headliner announced so far. Stuart, returning to the festival scene after 23 years, marks one of the long-awaited moments of this year’s organization.
