ND Slams PASOK’s Pre-Investigation Proposal for Tempy Tragedy

The New Democracy party has issued a strong rebuttal to PASOK’s request for a pre-investigation into the tragedy at Tempy. Through its Piraeus circles, ND outlines six reasons undermining PASOK’s accusatory stance on criminal offenses as proposed by Charilaou Trikoupis. ND characterizes PASOK’s proposal regarding the railway disaster at Tempy as baseless and legally unfounded, targeting former Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Kostas Ach. Karamanlis and seven other political figures. In a statement, ND highlights that PASOK’s zeal surpasses even SYRIZA and Polaki’s dogma. The government majority is thoroughly examining all legal documentation and will soon announce its position after completing an evaluation process. ND emphasizes it operates entirely within institutional frameworks, ensuring no hindrance to justice. Six key arguments dismantle PASOK’s accusations: 1) The oversight of the Ministry of Infrastructure over OSE-ERGOSE is purely administrative; 2) Officials are pursued for failing to take necessary actions towards the minister; 3) Accusations against directors cannot be transferred to the overseeing minister; 4) Political responsibility for systemic issues does not equate to criminal liability; 5) The judicial referral exclusively concerns ministers, excluding undersecretaries; 6) Statute of limitations applies to former minister Christos Spiritis.
