The National Bank has launched a pioneering digital platform for real estate transactions called Uniko, operating as a ‘digital intermediary’ within its overall transformation strategy. This initiative focuses on customer-centric approaches through continuous product renewal and advanced technological solutions. Through strategic moves and collaborations over recent years, the National Bank has secured a leading position in retail banking. The Uniko platform was created in a joint venture with Qualco (National Bank holds a 49% stake) and went live just a week ago. According to Christina Theofilidi, General Manager of Retail Banking at National Bank, currently, 600 properties from the greater Athens area are listed on Uniko, with the goal of exceeding 3,000 listings by year-end, expanding geographically. Individuals looking to buy or sell property or complete a housing loan can list their properties or search for available ones on the platform. Properties are verified through prior technical and legal checks by the National Bank. Sellers and industry partners can conduct transactions more easily and quickly, eliminating bureaucracy via trusted services starting from accurate property valuation and certification to successful contract completion. Additionally, the bank leads in the loan market, especially housing loans. For two consecutive years (2023 and 2024), about one-third of housing loans were issued by the National Bank, which also offers alternative programs like ‘My First Home’ for ineligible applicants under the ‘My Home’ program. The bank is also prominent in supporting SMEs through various funding programs. In digital sales, the National Bank excels with over 500,000 product sales completed digitally in 2024. It is the largest digital bank in Greece with over 3 million active users. The bank also introduced the dual card, combining debit and credit functions, and plans to replace 500 ATMs with new technology in 2025. Furthermore, it leads in embedded banking, providing products through non-banking channels. Finally, the Wealth Management division offers personalized services through Private and Premium Banking.
