Nasos Gavelas was invited to the show “Studio 4” with the gold Paralympian, who has become a symbol of power and inspiration for all to share unknown stories and aspects of his life. In his interview, Gavelas spoke of the challenges and difficulties he faced, but also the way he managed that from his 10 years old he began to lose his sight. Gavela’s words For the second gold: “All this joy must be translated because each goal is ahead. This is all about giving you beautiful memories. There’s nothing coming freely. It’s too hard.” For his daily life: “My life is to deal with it, alongside the psychology school I had. Practice in the morning, I come home at noon and practice this afternoon. The whole process is around it. If the period is too tiring, I’m not going for a ride. My exit, my joy, is the stage.” For its recognition: “I am only glad that people see that what you want you can do. People talk to me, it’s nice… It gives me joy if I give someone the inspiration they want to feel.” How he faced his disease: “I had taken it more as a joke that my vision was diminishing… It was a gene disease. My father had a gene and my mother. In time, because I took the joker, the eye muscle was destroyed and so it happened. I cared about continuing my life and doing what I wanted. It certainly played a role in how I grew up in my family and the character. Since I was crazy about sports and running, why should I lack that?”.
