Rafa Nadal will not compete in Wimbledon and the Olympics. The top Spanish tennis player has officially announced that he will not travel to London and Tokyo, with both tournaments losing much of their luster.
“Hello, I have decided not to take part in this year’s Champioships at Wimbledon and the Tokyo Olympics,” Rafa Nadal wrote on social media. “It is never an easy decision, but after listening to my body and discussing it with my team, I understand that it is the right decision.”
The year is not the best possible for the Spaniard, who, against the odds, lost to Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of Roland Garros, losing the first place in Paris.
